This strong, expressive piano has been used for several summers of top quality classical chamber music concerts at Taconic Music in Manchester, VT. Pianists loved the action, timbre and dynamic range. However, the organization is reluctantly selling their piano due to the loss of off-season storage space.
It has the original 1945 soundboard and pin block. In the 1980s it was restrung and the keys were recovered in plastic. In 2018 the action was rebuilt by Flynn Pianos with NY Steinway action parts plus new Mapes bass strings. In 2022, the piano was fully regulated and used for two more summer seasons. Nevertheless, the action parts show very little wear, as it was not used for teaching or practice. Only rehearsals and performance.
In February 2024 the piano returned to Flynn Pianos in Great Barrington, MA, where it was regulated and voiced. It also received 2 days of touch up work on the case. It has been well-maintained with a 2-tank climate control system and protected from sunlight. Price includes a brown cloth cover, artists bench, ground-floor delivery within 50 miles and one on-site tuning after delivery.
