This piano sounds good, plays well, and looks fine for its age. It is nearly all original, except for the bridle straps and a few action parts. It was tuned at A440 in January 2025. The tuning pins held well and the tone was full and even across the piano. Ready to enjoy as-is. It is one of the last Steinway uprights before the modern 52" model K introduced in 1903. So it's a bit taller, at 54", and heavier than the current model. It has a late Victorian appearance and timbre -- dark mahogany and a sound to match. There are minor blemishes in the case and the original soundboard has a few splits. But as of January there were no noises associated with them. They can be glued to the ribs if the buyer wishes.
