This piano has been partially rebuilt. It has a new pinblock, strings, #2 pins, damper felt, and Abel hammers with Encore shanks. The plate has been repainted, and new underfelt installed. The semi-gloss ebony finish is in good condition, as are the original ivory keytops. The original soundboard, with some splits, still sounds good and has been repaired to eliminate all noise due to separation from ribs.
Although the action could use regulation work, this is still a very attractive and more than adequate piano with plenty of volume, and decent tone. Recent work on the piano aside from soundboard repairs include strike point adjustment in the upper treble to increase the volume and improve the tone, as well as voicing to make the tone warmer across the mid range of the keyboard. The old climate system was removed, but is included with the piano. Buyers are encouraged to install a more recent PianoSaver system with an undercover, and/or humidify the room during colder months extend the life of the tunings, and the piano.
