The model A-3 (often called the “Stretch A”) Steinway grand, was produced from 1913 to 1945. The A-3 is Steinway’s most sought-after piano. The range and power of the A-3 is comparable to the larger Steinway model B, and many feel the A-3’s scale design has one of the smoothest transitions between registers of any Steinway. Manufactured in 1924, this piano was fully restored in 2008. The restoration included Hamburg Steinway action, a new soundboard, bridge caps, pin block, pins, and strings. Ivory keys were installed, new gold finish applied on original harp, and a lacquer hand-rubbed black satin finish was applied to the case. The DamppChaser system is included.
