First introduced in 1884 and still in regular production at both the New York and Hamburg Factories, the Steinway & Sons Model D Concert Grand Piano is the instrument by which all other concert pianos are judged. The pinnacle of Steinway piano design, these instruments measure just under nine feet in length. Often featured on the stages of the leading premier concert venues in the world - they are just at home in the residences of many Steinway aficionados and advanced pianists. Steinway & Sons Model D #424770 was built in 1971 at the Hamburg, Germany Steinway & Sons Factory and is in very good, pre-owned condition. Hamburg Steinway instruments are quite rare in the United States and are hard to find!

The piano’s cabinet boasts subtle reminders of its European heritage including round cabinet arms and a uniquely pointed music rack. The cabinet is completed in a polished ebony finish with a brass fallboard logo decal. Solid brass hardware contrasts against the sleek black cabinet. The piano's cabinet is in very good condition, while the legs show some evidence of use. The backbone of the piano, the cast iron plate features unique Hamburg Steinway-specific logos. The piano’s action features the original Steinway Factory action parts and has been expertly regulated and voiced by our team of piano technicians. The keyset features stunning one-piece ivory keytops and ebony wood sharps. The piano features the factory original pinblock, soundboard, and music wire. The soundboard has several tight, hairline cracks - none of these cracks are causing unwanted buzzing or noise.
