The AvantGrand series of hybrid pianos have no strings. The N2 combines the full action of an acoustic grand piano – keys, hammers, wippens, flanges, etc., with a selection of carefully sampled concert grands from Yamaha and Bosendorfer. You now have the tactile touch of an acoustic piano. But unlike an acoustic, the N2 never needs tuning. It can be played silently with headphones, interface with computers, and record performances internally.
