At 6' 2" (188 cm), the Model A Salon Grand piano is known for delivering a “grand” sound in a medium-scale instrument. This grand piano offers power and warmth, with a design that allows the solid spruce soundboard to freely and efficiently resonate, like its larger counterparts.

Each instrument in the Steinway Crown Jewel collection is an original handcrafted work of art, unique in all the world. Koa wood is unique to Hawaii and is not found anywhere else in the world. The color can range from reds to chocolate browns. Koa has a fine grain with a medium coarse texture, but it is the figuring that sets Koa into a class of it's own. Steinway & Sons craftspeople meticulously match the grain from one end of the piano to the other — even across the beveled edge of the lid. Individually distinguished with a special Limited Edition medallion indicating its uniqueness, a Crown Jewel is a Steinway that truly makes itself heard even before you touch the keys.
