I am offering for sale my 1914 Steinway Model C (serial # 169518): a 7'6" semi-concert grand with a rich, powerful tone and incredible depth. I purchased this piano in 1996 and later had the cabinet professionally restored and the action balanced (very minor work). While I originally considered a full restoration, I ultimately found that the piano already played beautifully and that its sound was truly remarkable.

This Model C has been well-maintained in a climate-controlled home and is in great (but not perfect) playing condition. Its bold, resonant voice, though, is more than I need for my space and the style of music that I most enjoy (contemporary classic), so I am offering it to a new home where it can truly shine.

A brief look into Model C history:
The Model C was discontinued by STEINWAY & SONS New York in 1905. From 1905 to 1936, a minimal number were crafted, and those were by special order only, making the Model C one of the most rare and most sought-after Steinways. Being enamored and loved for its clarity of tone and powerful, fundamental-oriented voice, legendary pianists, such as Joseph Hoffman, preferred and toured nationwide with a Model C.

For the discriminating pianist (or collector) hoping to acquire a Steinway with an exquisite sound (at an exceptional price), not to mention one that is an irreplaceable piece of music history, this offering is truly a fantastic opportunity.
