This 1920 German Blüthner has a fascinating history. It’s a 6’4” baby grand with a nice light touch, an even tone with a beautiful voice, and nice ring. It is comfortable to play, and well-suited for both the passionate player and acoustic keyboard student who are looking for a well-balanced instrument.
The piano has been regularly tuned on time by a professional technician. The humidifier system has had regular maintenance. The case, keys and legs have some minor appearance blemishes as shown in the images. The Piano bench is included.
The piano was partially rebuilt in 2001 including work on the soundboard, pin block and bridge caps. Other work included regulation and restringing. A Dampp-Chaser humidity regulation system was installed in 2004.
The principal owner, a professor of opera theory, used the piano to study the operatic works of Richard Wagner, (Wagner used a Blüthner!) and specifically the way Wagner matched lyrical expressions with his musical compositions in the Ring Cycle.
More recently, our son studied on it, from his early years through graduation from college conservatory.
Blüthner Pianos, which are more commonly found in Europe, are respected as one of the finest brands of German pianos. I can share more history of this beautiful instrument and its technical details during your inquiry.
