Sold August 18 1922 to L Grundwold Co. in New Orleans. Rebuilt in 2000 and maintained professionally, ever since. Currently stored in a climate controlled studio in New Orleans. New action, hammers and felts that play beautifully. Original soundboard and ivory keys. The sound of these 1920's Steinways is honestly something else.

I don't want to sell this, it's so precious to me. Especially since it has been played by Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and a handful of New Orleans piano legends (I have videos and pictures somewhere.) The provenance of this instrument is extraordinary and it has only ever had two owners, who both maintained it impeccably.

I am only selling because I have recently received a pretty terrible medical diagnosis that doesn’t allow me to play like I used to. This piano has healed me for so many years and now it will have to quite literally heal me with the $ it generates being put towards my treatments. If you’re serious about buying an extraordinary grand piano, I don’t think a situation like this with instrument of this quality is really ever going to come along again. Definitely need this to go to a great home!
