This rare find was a collaborative beauty of engineering, dreamt up by no other than Mr. Irving Berlin. His dream was to create a a master craft designed piano that could shift octaves when called upon. So pitching his idea to the world renowned Heintzman and Sons, his dream became reality, and Mr Berlin, continued to play the rest of his musical career on only this piano.
The one that i have for sale, is verified from 1909. It is so rare, and such a beautiful piece of piano history, that the Smithsonian has one in their collection from 1908. Unfortunately, theirs is in a much more dilapidated state. Mine from 1909 is in pristine condition for its age. It is playable and in tune. The body is in great condition, with the odd scratch from over 116 years of entertaining. Although I an asking only $5000 for this incredible beauty, money will not be the deciding factor on its sale. I love abd appreciate this piano for what it is, and am hoping that it finds its way to a new home that will love and care for it as much as I do.
