Are you looking for a professional caliber concert piano? Do you know know you want to go pro but feel your instrument might be holding back your progress…?
Look no further!

One of the greatest pianos ever manufactured, the Mason & Hamlin CC (9ft) Concert Grand is very rare!

There are many aspects of this piano that are unique to Mason & Hamlin:
The structure of the piano is more robust than any other maker, coming in at a whopping 1,400 pounds which allows it to withstand even the strongest players and produce the largest sound.
The inner and outer rims of this piano are massive, offering greater longevity of tone (with a side soundboard) than regular pianos.
The wood is further reinforced with the patented Tension Resonator System. This metal bracing further supports the piano.
The finish is also very good – quite an attractive instrument to have around!

This particular instrument has seen (and heard) quite a lot in its lifetime…

After being built in 1965, the first 50 years of its journey are somewhat of a mystery. It was picked up by a doctor who barely knew how to use it or what to do with it. When he moved across the US he didn’t want to take it with him, so he simply donated it back to the piano store he originally got it from.

A year later, a retired concert pianist, the legendary Mark Westcott, walked into the store and discovered it lying alone in a corner. His first thought is that it needs to go to his precocious young teenage student who was practicing 6-8 hours a day and going full steam ahead toward a concert career. The only problem with this is that the student didn’t come from a family of money. However, he had been desiring and praying for a concert-worthy instrument to support his career endeavors so he went to give it a try. This video was his first time playing it in the store.

Believe it or not, this 18 year old wasn’t very into the piano because it didn’t seem to have a warm tone. After discussing with his teacher, the real issue was that the hammers were quite old and worn. It was going to cost around a thousand dollars to replace them with new “Abel” hammers (German made) to get more out of the instrument. (This was a change that ended up happening a year later.)

But first things first! The price even at the lowest the store could give was over 16k more than the top price the student's family could afford (let alone have the space for). They thought it through and simply couldn’t find a way to make it happen. So they left it alone and moved on.

Long story short… Seven months later, the piano had not sold! It was as if it was reserved by God just for this upcoming pianist. By then, his family had moved and did have the space for it. He won a couple competitions and scholarships that each provided a few thousand dollars, his grandparents gave him a decent chunk of cash, and he did a fundraising recital to get some additional funds as well as taught 13 students of his own per week to constantly contribute to paying it off. With that, he was able to receive the piano at age 19 and have it paid off by 21!

This brought in a new era of development for the new adult which allowed him excellent practice quality as he prepared for several international competitions and many solo concerts every year.

And by the way…

The reason I know all of these details is that I am that teenager.

This piano was transformational in what I was able to do between 2016 to 2024, including arranging my now semi-renowned “Rite of Spring” solo piano transcription on YouTube as well as hosting over 100 video tutorials on my social media accounts.

Last year, I had the piano repinned, voiced, regulated, and got a damp-chase system installed for moisture control. Between that and the relatively new hammers (over $4,000 value of bonuses), this piano is in tip-top shape for the concert stage, a serious player, or even a classy decoration piece in your living room to host private events, etc.

By all means, it could be my career-long piano, but recently an opportunity came up for me that made selling make the most sense.
