Extremely sad that I have to part with this beauty but I am downsizing and it just won't fit in my new house. In excellent condition after 150 years, the piano was professionally restored in late 2001. In the process, the piano was stripped of the original lacquer and rebuilt with 4 coats sanding sealer and 4 coats of lacquer. Coats were cured, re-sanded, and rubbed out before each application and the final rub. In the restoration, the strings were replaced with new hand-made strings with new pins and felt. The dampers were replaced. The sound board was cleaned and appears to be in excellent condition now. The original ivory keys were in good shape at that time, and as a result, were only cleaned and not replaced.

The piano will need to be tuned after a move, although it has a very nice sound now - unlike some of the more tinny modern pianos - and it is completely playable as is. The stool that I purchased with the piano was Eastlake style so I replaced it with a Rococo style stool that matches better (as shown in the pictures). Happy to include or exclude the stool at the buyer's request. The legs and pedals can be removed from the piano case for easy shipping, if needed.

A few pictures are posted, but I can post or send pictures from different angles or in different light if needed. There is a spot of dirt on the picture of the keys - oops! - this has been cleaned. As you can see, the legs and case are mostly free of any dings or damages. Because I live in a very dry state, there is a tiny bit of lifting of the wood on the left side of the keyboard that didn't pick up in the photos, so I'm sure would be an easy fix if it does not adjust by itself in other climates.

Asking $7,500, which is much less than what I paid for it before transport. Note that newly restored Chickering & Sons square grand pianos from this era sell for $30,000+ (check out the Antique Piano Shop online).
