My grandfather purchased this piano from a friend in the late nineties. This piano was originally black, but when my grandfather paid to have it re-finished in 1999 he discovered that he preferred the look of the dark wood underneath and left it that way. I'm not sure what my grandfather paid to have it stripped of the original black color, but I do know he paid $3000 for it when he first bought the piano. As best as I can tell according to my online research and the serial number I found on the left underside of the piano, I believe it was made in 1966. The last time it was tuned was 10-15 years ago, but the last person who tuned it said the internal metal parts are high quality and in good condition. There are no missing or broken parts, everything sounds and plays very well.
