Celebrated race car designer (BMW 507 Roadster) and German nobility, Albrecht Graf von Goertz, was approached by STEINWAY & SONS to consider the creation of a one-of-a-kind piano design to honor the 125th Anniversary of Steinway’s Hamburg factory. After years of model construction, the design was finalized in 2005 and introduced as Limited Edition by STEINWAY & SONS.

Graf von Goertz called this piano design “my last work”. He passed in 2006 at the age of 92, leaving a legacy of history-making industrial designs that spanned continents.
