This is an excellent piano in original condition. It has been in two different homes, moderately used, and meticulously cared for. The touch is responsive and well-balanced. The tone is warm and clear at the same time. There is the required power in the bass and the singing range is just that! As a point of reference, the Steinway Model O, which is the same size as the Model L and has replaced it in the Steinway line-up, is currently listing new at $103,500.00.
This piano is a joy to play, and lovely to behold. It also has an interesting back-story. The first half of its life, this piano belonged to Gap Mangione, the brother of the more-famous Chuck Mangione. Chuck played fluegelhorn, but Gap is a pianist! This was his piano, he used it for recordings, and signed it. The signature is in impeccable condition!
The piano comes with the required Jansen Adjustable Bench, which is also in like-new condition.
